Boat ramps in South East Queensland

69 public boat ramps from Noosa to the Gold Coast, area by area: the water each one launches into, the bar you cross to reach the sea, its tide place, the reefs and marks it is the usual launch for, and the marine rescue unit to log on with.

Updated

All of them launch into smooth water (the water category under the Transport Operations (Marine Safety) Regulation 2016). Bar names link to Maritime Safety Queensland's crossing advice. MSQ: only experienced skippers with local knowledge should cross, and nothing here calls a crossing safe.

About this list

"Reach from here" lists the reefs, FADs and marks whose usual launch is that ramp, with the trip length out and back (4, 6 or 7 hours) that we allow for when checking the bar and the open water. "Marine rescue" names the area's units, and the unit for each bar a trip crosses. Log-on details are shown only where we could check them; otherwise check with the unit. Emergency: 000 (112 from mobiles) · VHF 16 for distress. Lifejackets must be worn crossing a designated bar in an open boat, or in an open area of any boat (the law since 1 Dec 2024, enforced from 1 Jul 2025; MSQ, checked 9 Oct 2026).
