Cairns and Trinity Inlet fishing spots
Cairns sits on Trinity Inlet, a net-free estuary of channels, creeks and flats known for barramundi, mangrove jack, fingermark and threadfin. The Barron River and the northern beaches add rock walls, creek mouths and the Palm Cove jetty, and the reef is a short run offshore. Jacks and barra peak in the warm months; trevally, queenfish and grunter in the cooler months.
