Bowen fishing spots
Bowen sits on a knob of land with bays on both sides, so one shore is usually out of the wind. Anglers fish the long town jetty and the rocky bays for queenfish, trevally and winter mackerel, the creeks and the Don River for barramundi, jacks and whiting, and run boats into Edgecumbe Bay and out to the islands. Mackerel peak in the cooler months.
